From Friday the 17th of November and every Friday thereafter until further notice the bistro is open late, offering cocktails and a simple bar menu.
We will not be taking bookings on the Friday late openings as it will be an informal affair, catering to walk-ins and encouraging guests to join in with the yule spirit and indulge in cocktails with friends and spending in the shop. We will have a mulled whiskey cocktail, a perfect winter warmer on sale too.
Now serving our festive Yule Menu.
Celebrating the very best produce is at the heart of all we do. Our Bistro showcases local ingredients from our doorstep as well as sourcing the best the wider Northumbria and the borderlands has to offer.
You can now visit our Bistro and enjoy our newly launched menus! Savour everything from an early morning locally ground coffee with Crushed Avocado and Poached Egg on Rye Bread, to a rich array of hot and cold lunch options, afternoon tea, or one of the best Sunday Lunches in Northumberland, including all the trimmings.
The Bistro is open from 10am to 5pm every day except Tuesdays.
Our Brunch Menu is available from Thursday to Sunday between 10am until 12pm and our Sunday Lunch is served from 12 noon.
If you would like to come and enjoy our delicious traditional Afternoon Tea, this is available from Friday through to Sunday from 2pm until 3:30pm and must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.
Table reservations for all other menus can also be booked up to 24 hours beforehand, as well as in person on the day. To get in touch with our team about any queries you may have about our Bistro please visit our contact page.

We have a range of seated options that are accessible for everyone to enjoy – supporting everything from cosy chat in front of the fire, a quick salad lunch with colleagues, or a major celebratory feast for the whole family.
For those happy to sit and breathe our fresh Northumbrian air there is also additional outdoor seating on our patio overlooking our garden.
Later in the year, we will transform into a night-time dining destination, with more formal dinner menus continuing our service and opening times on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Further details to follow soon. To keep up to date with the Ad Gefrin story, head to our news and what's on pages.
Accompanying our wonderful comfort food, our bar also celebrates the best of local and regional producers, with ales from neighbouring breweries and distilleries on offer alongside more familiar labels. The heroes on our shelves will obviously be our own spirits – but we will be delighted to take you on a tasting journey, recommending new tipples and serves to whet your appetite. We pride ourselves that our staff ‘know their whisky’ so don’t be afraid to ask them to suggest an aperitif, a gin pairing for your food, or one of our spirits for the road.
