Enjoy a Classic Afternoon Tea at 3 pm in the beautiful setting of multi-award-winning museum and whisky distillery, Ad Gefrin, prior to Christopher Ward’s event, My Life in the Shadow of Titanic.

The Festival is able to offer combined tea and talk tickets at a discounted price thanks to a grant from EDF Renewables Barmoor Windfarm Community Benefit Fund at Community Foundation North East. That will make your Afternoon Tea even tastier.

My Life in the shadow of Titanic: A story of love, loss and lies – Christopher Ward | 5pm

Christopher Ward grew up in the shadow of Titanic, his mother the illegitimate daughter of one of the heroic bandsmen. After her death, Christopher wrote a best-seller about his young grandfather.

Five years later, in a chance encounter in Jamaica, he discovers that his mother lived and died unaware that she had a half-brother 5,000 miles away. And then…the further revelation that Christopher himself has cousins back in Britain. They meet and find love, friendship and forgiveness.
