Since its inception, the guild has expanded to include 26 member distilleries, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for English whisky.

As the industry flourishes, more people are discovering the distinctive flavours, craftsmanship, and quality that English whisky has to offer. The EWG's vision is to gain global recognition while upholding high production standards and ensuring the spirit’s authenticity and regulation.

Committed to consumer interests, the English Whisky Guild has submitted a ‘GI’ (Geographical Indication) application to establish clear production standards, guaranteeing that any whisky labelled as ‘English’ meets the highest quality benchmarks.
